A MORAL DILEMMA

One day i went to my dad's office and took his pen. At that age i did not know how much that pen costs and i took it then i said i didn't know where it is. Then the whole office staff was scolded because of me. then i decided to put the pen under his table, and then tell him that i got it it was under the table. At that time i felt bad for the employees in the office because they did not do any thing wrong. The dilemma was that if i tell him i took it then i would be beaten and if he did not get the pen some one Innocent would lose his or her job because of me. which i didn't want to happen. that when i decide to put it under the table.

Reflection on Greg Craven's logic

After watching the video of Greg's logic i think that in my opinion it simplifies the way to decide what to decide if a problem arises. this logic is very good and it is also used by businesses to solve conflicts. in this video Greg chooses option "A" over option "B" because he thinks that if we choose option "B" and do not take any step to prevent the disaster and it takes place then it might be a catastrophic disaster which may cost many lives. he says we can use the money to prevent and then it happens rather that not spending money and it happens.

however because there is a 50 - 50 chance for the disaster to happen or not to happen , if they spend the money and it happens then well and good but if it does not happen then million's and million's of dollars are wasted which money could be used on something else like education , food , poverty etc

he logic of Greg's theory is that it gives you possibilities example;
when there is an attack in East African Countries by Terrorist group called Al-Shabab then the rest of the world  is adivsied not to travel to those countries this could be a disaster to the country because there will be a crisis in there tourism industry.

Al -shabab Attacking East Africa
Going to East African Countries
Not Going to East African Countries
Attack happens
Losing their lives.
Saved their lives from the attack by not traveling to East Africa.
Attack Does not happen
Enjoying their holidays and the beauty of East Africa.
Spoiling their holidays and not getting a chance to visit the beauty of East Africa .

IS SEEING BELIVING ?

I think I can not believe, in what I see because , the sense of seeing varies on the amount of light reflected on what we see and also the colors it is showing us . we can have the same item with the same details but when they come from  different sources. and this makes the human brain that what we see is right and we believe in it.

IS SEEING BELIVING?

Reflection on language

After being introduced by language in TOK, and knowing how it helps in the way of knowing.i have learnt how language is important in the way you understand things.

How do you explain something or say something if there was no language?

i can not write this blog if there was no language, because language allows you to think about something so that someone can understand what you are trying to say .
if there was no language as an input then you can not process it to be able to think and are you are not able to put your thoughts into language again.

That is why language is important in the ways of knowing.

Language And Thought

Why is the ruthless totalitarian regime, described in Orwell’s novel purging Oldspeak and imposing Newspeak? What assumptions are being made about the relationship between language and thought?

They are imposing Newspeak in order to eliminate words that are looked at as unnecessary or useless. They believe that there are extra words in Oldspeak that could be replaced by simply changing one word so that with these changes, could have the different meanings of words. For example, instead of “good” and “bad” it will just be “ungood.” By removing Oldspeak, many words will be removed as well, in order to establish a simpler and more direct use of language.

Application of the ladder of abstraction in TOK

My grand father claims that the fruits on his trees are ripening earlier and earlier he thinks it is due to global warming.

Knowledge claim : that fruits are ripening faster due to global warming.
Concept: Experience , sense perception , history, memory, science, truth.
Poor knowledge question:Do we need experience to prove that fruits are growing faster ?
Intermediate knowledge question: Can science justify why fruits are growing faster?
Good knowledge question: to what extent can we use memory to achieve the hi storical truth?
